Renata has been very generous and went beyond and above to provide me with plenty of insights, feedback, and ideas. She provided me with a genius yet straightforward perspective to look at a crucial peace of our company.
I've had over 7 formal mentors in my life and Renata tops this list as the most clear and helpful mentor. Before Renata became my mentor, I felt stuck and was overwhelmed by options. Each option seemed like a good use of my time but ultimately resulted in marginal progress. Having Renata in my corner feels like I have an unfair advantage. I now have a clear path forward, am constantly excited about my future and can focus my time on actions that will move the needle.
I was particularly impressed by Renata's ability to tweak the words and provide product-centric literature. She helped me to communicate the vision of autonow effectively. She is very professional and is always looking forward to helping entrepreneurs connect the dots! It's rare to find such a kind and talented personality!
Renata is a delight to work with. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a great mentor overall.
Renata was a judge at our pitch event here at Draper UniversityAnd the entrepreneurs loved her feedback!!
Not only is Renata a wealth of knowledge in a wide variety of areas, from venture funding to operations and sales, having been involved in virtually all essential aspects of business operations, she is also incredibly approachable, engaging, and responsible as a speaker and a mentor. Such combination of qualities is a truly rare find, and especially for very early-career entrepreneurs.
It’s both my pleasure and honor to acknowledge Renata for presenting her “After “Me Too” talk to the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day San Francisco | Silicon Valley community as Mayor London Breed’s office officially proclaimed November 19th Women’s Entrepreneurship Day. Renata’s candid style and applicable business cases won over the packed house the moment she began speaking. And to no surprise, before and after the event, she has continued to connect and work with business owners in the WeDO community.
I can’t possibly say enough good things about Renata. She’s so is incredibly approachable. I don’t even know her that well and had never met in person and she responded to me quicker than people I’ve known for years. She has helped me set new life goals—If I do even a fraction of what she does to help others I will impress myself! Anyone would be lucky to get to work with her.
Renata is a powerhouse of insight and knowledge in the VC community. In a matter of a few hours, she cleared the cobwebs for me around a matter that is taboo and hush-hush in the startup world (other than for those "in the know"). The information and framing she gave me were instrumental in making a crucial decision for my startup.
Renata is a fantastic mentor, educator, and supporter. Her unique combination of interests, experiences, career perspective and industry knowledge in startups and venture capital are unparalleled. I have been even more impressed with her ability and desire to help and look forward to each conversation and advice I am able to receive. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a mentor…
Renata is a mentor who meets you exactly where you are. She gives you no illusions about the work ahead, fully equips you to build your own unique set of tools to fight battles. She believes in experiential learning that helps you build a new neural pathway towards thinking like a "zero waste entrepreneur". After working with her, you start asking the right questions, a skill that can be translated to any leadership role that you might take on, for the rest of your life.
As a growing professional, having Renata's counsel and mentorship by my side has been truly invaluable. Renata does not take her responsibilities as a mentor lightly, and is truly committed and invested in the success of those who she chooses to mentor. I value her sincere reliability - just recently I needed some guidance on professional decision and reached out to Renata, she offered me her full attention calling me on a Sunday to discuss.
Having Renata as a mentor and bringing her on as an advisor has been a change for the better. I am honored to receive her feedback in all types of forms and shapes. She is clear and concise and would bring up thoughts, recommendations and suggestions that we weren't able to think of. Her spirit screams women empowerment and her affirmations mean we can go far. She has a talent of making the right connections and seeing beyond the initial first impressions.
Just wanted to write a brief comment on Renata's latest book. This is certainly a must-read book for both future venture investors and startup founders. Renata George gives you an insider look on the way venture capital functions, supports it with numerous studies, charts and graphs, sums up the best practices, but what is more important she gives you a unique chance to look inside investors’s brains to understand how their venture capital mindset really works. And it is well written too.
Renata made an enormous difference to our business, an early stage startup, as one of our first advisors. She is playing a key role in our success due to her excellent coaching and insights into the Silicon Valley Venture Capital world. She is an incredible adviser and advocates for start-ups and in particular female founders. She brings the insights, intelligence, honesty and spirit that helps founders and teams stay in the game. Renata sincerely cares about her business partners and her work – she truly wants you and your team to succeed!
Renata has put together an amazing program that I haven't really seen a parallel to - an easy, approachable way to part the veil over what it means to be a VC for someone who had only contemplated this field in a vaguest of terms. Now, armed with what I am learning through the program, I know that this is something I am able to contribute to, and in fact am doing just that as an Entrepreneur in Residence at a venture fund, even as I continue my role as a founder of WishKnish. Thank you for doing this, Renata, and I very much looking forward to continue working with you!
I've just finished the book "Venture Capital Mindset" from Renata George and I celebrate my first 2 months in this industry with Buran Venture Capital. So even if I get hired before reading the book, it is an excellent set of tools to understand better how VC works, and probably to get tricks to get in touch with them whether as an entrepreneur or a candidate. If #VentureDeals is a must read for all VCs and entrepreneurs to understand the terms (and terms) and get the hard skills, Venture Capital Mindset is really about Mindset and is therefore a really good supplement. Thank you Renata.
